How to Add a Mail Account to Gmail?
This article details how you can add an email account in our service to the Gmail interface.

To get started you should know the following settings:

  • Your email account address and its password.
  • The name of the mail server assigned to your domain. You can see the correct mail server name in the "Domain has been configured" welcoming email or in Plesk control panel (select "Mail" from the left hand menu and click the info-icon).



Log in to Gmail https://gmail.com/ and open settings by clicking the cog icon in the top right corner. Choose "See all settings".



Select the "Accounts and Import" tab and then "Add an email account".



For incoming mail (POP3) insert the settings as follows:

  • Username: your full email address.
  • Password: the password for the email address.
  • POP server: the name of the mail server assigned to your domain. The correct value is in the form of mailX.hostaan.fi, where X is the server number.
  • Port: 995.
  • Choose "Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail."



For outgoing mail (SMTP) set the settings as follows:

  • SMTP server: the name of the mail server assigned to your domain. The correct value is in the form of smtpX.hostaan.fi, where X is the server number.
  • Port: 465.
  • Username: your full email address.
  • Password: the password for the email address.
  • Choose "Secured connection, using SSL".
