To improve security of the Plesk control panel, we recommend enabling multi-factor authentication.
You can enable 2FA (MFA, multi-factor authentication) from your Plesk profile settings. After this, logging in will require a code generated by an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) in addition to your password.
Start enabling multi-factor authentication by logging into the Plesk control panel and going to the "Edit Profile" menu in Plesk.
After this, click "Change current MFA" setting to enable the service. To enable multi-factor authentication, you will need a code generator application, such as Google Authenticator .
To enable MFA, you need to:
- Check the "Enable Multi-Factor Authentication" box
- Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator or another authentication app
- After scanning the QR code with Google Authenticator, you will receive a six-digit code. Enter the code in the "Verification code" field.
- Choose whether you want to enable the "Remember device" feature, which means you won't need to enter the multi-factor authentication code for 30 days when logging in with the same device
- Finally, click "Save"
After this, the Plesk control panel will ask for a six-digit verification code generated by Google Authenticator when you log in.
When logging in, choose whether you want the device to be remembered for 30 days (in which case the verification code will not be asked again on the same device for 30 days).
If you lose your authentication app and can no longer generate verification codes, you can contact our customer service to reset multi-factor authentication.
